Hairstyles have changed drastically throughout the years. For example, in the 60’s some women would curl the ends of their hair up, take hair from their brushes, save it and then add it to their hair to make their hair look taller. Now, women may only curl their hair, braid it or something like that.
In the 60’s there were a lot of different hairstyles. There was the beehive, which was when you would tease all your hair and sculpt it up. Another hairstyle that was popular in the 60’s was called the bob. The bob was when hair the went down to your chin and it was kind of turned inward toward your face. It usually would have bangs as well.
In the 80’s hairstyles were a little different than the 60’s. One hairstyle was called the whale spout. This hairstyle consisted of normally, short hair, that had a small ponytail on top of the head with the rest of the hair down. Another popular hairstyle in the 80’s was crimped hair. Many women would crimp their hair to have a lot of volume.
Now, hairstyles are a lot different than what they used to be. Some girls may shave a design into or even shave a side of their head and leave the rest of their hair down. Also, many girls will put their hair up in a messy bun or a cute messy ponytail. Sometimes some people wear hairstyles that were popular in the 60’s or 80’s but mostly focus on a newer style. So as you can see hairstyles from 1960 to now are very different. ~Gail
